A warm, inclusive, and child-centred primary school in Birmingham is seeking a passionate and nurturing Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team. As the Reception Class Teacher , you will be responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality, play-based curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. You will support children aged 4–5 as they settle into school life, develop positive learning behaviours, and build strong foundations in communication, literacy, and numeracy.

You will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that supports children’s emotional wellbeing, independence, and confidence. Working closely with teaching assistants, Early Years colleagues, and parents, you will ensure every child feels safe, supported, and excited to learn.

This role would suit an experienced EYFS teacher or an Early Career Teacher with a passion for Early Years and child development.

Your responsibilities as a Reception Teacher will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging, play-based EYFS learning experiences
• Supporting children’s communication, language, and early literacy development
• Observing, assessing, and tracking children’s progress using EYFS frameworks
• Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development
• Working closely with teaching assistants and Early Years colleagues
• Building strong partnerships with parents and carers
• Upholding safeguarding, health, and safety procedures at all times

The school is seeking a Reception Teacher who demonstrates:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within an EYFS or Reception setting
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
• A nurturing, patient, and child-centred approach
• Experience supporting children with SEND or speech and language needs
• Training, Support & Development
