Support Worker (Housing) (Permanent, Temporary)

Are you passionate about social justice and housing? Do you have a background in the Social Housing sector as a Housing Officer? We are currently supporting Nacro CAS-2 with their temporary recruitment of a Housing Support worker in Luton.
We are seeking a Housing Support Officer to join the CAS-2 team in Luton on a temp to perm basis. You will be allocated a patch of properties to cover, but you may be asked to cover other local areas depending on business needs. Your main duties as a Housing Support Worker will be managing your diary to meet the requirements of the role.
You will meet with Service Users, discuss support needs and how we can help them to meet their objectives; complete Support and Safety Plans, work with Community Probation Practitioners and Court Staff to best support our Service Users. You will also need to be able to help our Service Users with applying for HB and paying rent etc.
Please note that this role is NOT a personal care role. You will be providing housing support to the service users and will monitor repairs and the cleanliness of the property.
Working Hours: 8 hours per day (occasional need to work flexibly to accommodate evening arrivals within 08:00 – 22:00 service operating hours – flexibility goes both ways, with the ability to work from home between visits and manage own diary).
Due to the nature of this role, candidates with experience within social housing and knowledge regarding benefits/universal credit would benefit in this role.
You will need to be able to demonstrate resilience, emotional intelligence, teamwork and prioritisation skills and have experience dealing with vulnerable people and drug misuse. You must be highly flexible with your working day and be able to manage your day effectively. You will also need to be able to pass an Enhanced Adults DBS Check.
