In the competitive job search landscape, Jooble is making strides with its latest mobile app update, which is available in 67 countries globally. This update improves the speed of job seekers’ interactions with job postings, delivering quality traffic for marketers. Users can now navigate the app more quickly, make smarter clicks, and land their ideal job.

What steps have we taken to support job seekers on their path to finding their dream job?

Simplified user onboarding

Jooble has redesigned the onboarding process to reduce drop-off rates significantly in the early stages of the user journey. We’ve simplified the profession and region selection process by enhancing our recommendation algorithm, enabling users to find the best career matches. As a result, over 95% of new users complete onboarding and begin their job search.

  • Multiple job subscriptions. Users can now subscribe to up to 20 job alerts, a 300% increase from the previous limit of 5. Our algorithm carefully selects the most relevant profession for each user based on their preferences during onboarding. This update greatly increases the visibility of job postings that align with the user’s interests, improving the quality of incoming traffic to Jooble.

  • In some countries, we’re experimenting to better understand what job seekers prefer and what will be most useful to them. For instance, if a candidate selects ‘driver,’ the app suggests additional options like ‘category B driver’ and ‘security driver.’ If these tests yield positive results, we’ll expand them to all countries. This way, users subscribe to jobs they’re genuinely interested in and receive immediate results, significantly enhancing the quality of job seeker traffic for Jooble clients.

  • We’ve simplified the country selection process. We’ve noticed that users sometimes struggle to complete the onboarding, so we decided to make this step easier. We now display the most popular countries among our users and the country they’re currently in, allowing them to choose with just one click. 

Improved job matching algorithm

Our new mixed alert view technology for multi-keyword and multi-region job ranking, combined with smart tagging, has led to significant improvements in key metrics:

  • Increased engagement rate
  • Higher paid click-share
  • Enhanced conversion rates

For our partners, this means better-quality traffic and more engaged candidates.

Intelligent job recommendations

We’ve restructured the job description page to include dynamic recommendations. Previously, each subscription generated a personalised list of jobs, but now it takes into account user behaviour patterns to deliver more relevant results.

This change reduces user churn on these critical pages. Job seekers now spend more time exploring relevant opportunities, increasing their chances of finding the perfect match.

User-friendly interface

The refreshed UI/UX design, featuring job tags and location icons, enables users to make more informed decisions before clicking on a job posting. This results in better applicant traffic for marketers, as candidates gain a clearer understanding of the role before applying. Job seekers can quickly grasp a vacancy’s essentials by glancing at the page.

Tags in jobs

Tags give users a quick insight into the job without opening the job card. This helps job seekers make a more informed decision about whether the role is a good fit for them.

Recommended jobs

Users can scroll down to see additional jobs that might interest them when viewing a job card. Jooble selects these jobs based on the interests of other users with similar search queries.

Deep linking integration

Deep linking allows users to directly access the Jooble app from Google search results, bypassing the web page. This provides a more personalised and seamless experience by retaining their previous subscriptions and selected jobs.

Deep linking has delivered impressive outcomes:

  • 15% increase in user sessions
  • Users accessing Jooble through deep links exhibit 2.5-3 times better performance metrics

Deep linking improves user retention, boosts engagement, and increases the platform’s effectiveness for job seekers and marketers.

The impact in numbers: what results did we achieve?

  • A 53% increase in the number of active users
  • 1 million sessions in May 2024
  • 3.3 million total app installations to date
  • Ranked among the top job search apps on Google Play and the App Store globally
