Year 2 Teacher - Dartford

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and motivated Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dartford, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys upper Key Stage 1 and is passionate about supporting pupils during this important stage of their academic and personal development.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum, ensuring pupils are well-prepared for the transition into Key Stage 2. You will support pupils’ academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing, while promoting independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum

• Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress effectively

• Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL

• Promote positive behaviour and high expectations

• Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

• Work closely with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

• Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions, and school initiatives

• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)

• Have recent experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2

• Be organised, enthusiastic, and reflective in practice

• Have strong classroom management and planning skills

• Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills

• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
