Salary Scale: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently hiring a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist educational setting in York. We are looking for a caring and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them access learning in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist support staff to provide personalised support for students with a variety of additional needs. You will play an important role in promoting academic progress, emotional wellbeing, communication skills, and positive engagement in learning.

Main Responsibilities as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

* Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with a range of SEND, adapting support to meet individual needs.
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities that enable all students to access the curriculum.
* Support students in developing communication, social, emotional, and independent living skills.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions under the guidance of teaching staff.
* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and the wider support team.
* Promote positive behaviour while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

SEND Teaching Assistant Minimum Requirements:

* Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND in an educational or care setting is desirable.
* A good understanding of additional learning needs, such as Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs, or moderate learning difficulties.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
* A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learners with diverse needs.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
