Langport - Rural/General Practice Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rural/General Practice Surveyor in our busy Professional Services team. This is a full time, permanent position.

The successful candidate will be principally based in our Langport office, although there may be flexibility to work across Somerset and South Somerset in particular.

The role would suit a driven, qualified surveyor, who has a can-do attitude and a proven track record of developing business and contacts. It is a demanding but rewarding role, which will involve a wide range of work including Valuation work relating to a multitude of asset types, Farm/Land Agency, Compensation claims, Landlord and Tenant work, grant and subsidy work, as well as other day-to-day land agent tasks. Direct experience in all of these fields of work is not essential; however a broad interest is required.

There will be scope for career progression and involvement in business development. 

Some of the main duties include: 

• Manage individual workload and cases
• Pitching for professional instructions
• Providing sound professional advice and service to clients on a wide range of property issues, which may include RICS valuations, disposals/agency, compulsory purchase & compensation, grants and subsidies, rural planning, and landlord & tenant

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience in a similar role
• Exceptional communication skills
• MRICS and preferably FAAV although not essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to use own initiative
• Ability to seek and win business and develop contacts
• Clean driving licence and own car
