New Hospital Nursing Design Lead

Job summary
The New Hospital Nursing design lead will provide specialist nursing leadership and input into the development of a patient-centred clinical strategy and design ensuring adherence to national standards and regulations as well as H2.0 Model requirements. The postholder will work closely with the New Hospital Clinical lead, supporting service leads and the TOM Reference Group in ensuring the development of a clinically sound and operationally efficient design solution from a nursing perspective, ensuring alignment with clinical, workforce and digital strategies. The role will lead service engagement with clinical and operational leads in the implementation of the H2.0 Model and work collaboratively with senior leaders across SLTs including corporate groups supporting the workforce planning process. The role will support the development and implementation of the Target Operating Model (TOM) and Standard Operating Model (SOM). The post holder will work closely with the Executive Directors and deputies, Divisional Directors, Clinical Heads of Service, the Heads of Nursing and AHP colleagues across all the clinical groups providing services on the NMGH site. The postholder will be expected to make a positive contribution to the provision of health services across the Trust and the local health and social care economy. Main duties of the job

Qualifications and training
- Current employee of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and a senior nursing/AHP (Band 8c+) leading or delivering services at North Manchester General Hospital.
- First level graduate registration
- Educated to Degree/Masters level or equivalent training and experience
- Operational management experience at lead nurse level or above
- Post-registration leadership development
- Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
- Leadership/ management qualification
- Knowledge of NMGH services, key colleagues on the NMGH site & the wider MFT organisation.
- Knowledge of demographic and socioeconomic determinants of health, their impact on the North Manchester patient catchment and on future service delivery knowledge.
- Knowledge of the Greater Manchester strategic context disaggregation & MFT Managed Single Services.
- Knowledge and an understanding of clinical and non-clinical models and hospital processes, hospital operations and clinical and non-clinical workflows.
- A good understanding of the dynamics of the NHS and the values of the UK Public Sector.
- Knowledge of professional development agenda in the NHS
- Knowledge of regulatory and NHS strategy which impacts on education provision and experience of developing strategies to address changes
- Understanding of the principles and practice of performance improvement and key performance indicators
- Ability to encourage, plan and implement strategies and service improvement
- Knowledge and understanding of the NHS 10 year plan
- Knowledge of the New Hospitals Programme and government objectives for the design of new hospitals.
- Knowledge of current systems change planned nationally, for Greater Manchester, and the potential impact on the Trust.
- Knowledge of current regulations and processes regarding major service change in the NHS.
- Recognised & respected senior clinical leader providing care from the NMGH site or responsible for the leadership of services at NMGH as part of their role.
- Experience of planning, managing and delivering clinical-related service change, leading engagement with internal and external partners.
- Able to demonstrate a track record of achieving objectives.
- Able to demonstrate working with colleagues from other departments to deliver successful outcomes.
- A proven ability to come up with flexible and creative solutions to difficult problems.
- Evidence of holding others to account and managing conflict effectively to achieve the clear objectives.
- Experience of operating at a senior management level in an NHS Trust or similar organisation.

- Experience of working on a major hospital redevelopment programme/ NHS service transformation programme in a similar role.
