English classrooms are well resourced, and students have access to an extensive on-site library, research facilities, and collaborative study spaces.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS, PGCE , or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has strong subject knowledge and passion for English & Literature
- Can teach GCSE and/or A-Level (or is keen to develop this)
- Is creative, reflective, and driven to help students excel
- Has the legal right to work in the UK
The School
This school is set on a leafy 50-acre shared campus, offering exceptional space for both academic and extracurricular life. It educates approximately 900 boys aged 11–18, many of whom progress seamlessly into the Sixth Form. The school is known for academic excellence: its pupils routinely produce some of the strongest public examination results in Birmingham and beyond.
Facilities include historic buildings seamlessly integrated with modern learning spaces, a chapel, well-equipped lecture and seminar rooms, and shared resources with the adjacent girls’ school in areas like music, drama, and sports. The school emphasises holistic development, alongside rigorous academics, students are encouraged to lead, experiment, and engage in intellectual and cultural societies.
Staff benefit from a collaborative, intellectually rich environment, access to generous professional development, on-site parking, and involvement in shaping the school’s academic and extra-curricular life.
Salary & Benefits
