The Economic Crime Threat Intelligence & Insight Function in Economic Crime Risk is looking for an Economic Crime Investigations MI & Reporting Manager based out of Milton Keynes or Glasgow .
This role will be accountable for supporting a portfolio of economic crime investigations activity, ensuring complex, sensitive and high-risk cases are progressed effectively, consistently and in line with applicable legal, regulatory and policy requirements. The role holder supports the delivery of the Economic Crime Investigations strategy by providing specialist oversight, operational direction and subject matter expertise across investigations, intelligence-led casework, suspicious activity escalation and financial crime exits. The individual will lead on the production of MI and reporting for the Investigations Team.
The role holder will work closely with Economic Crime Risk, Financial Crime Operations, business stakeholders and external agencies where appropriate, helping to ensure that money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions, bribery, corruption, tax evasion and wider economic crime risks are identified, investigated, escalated and managed appropriately.

Economic Crime Risk Management and Oversight: Is responsible for supporting the execution of the Function’s Strategy and priorities. This will require working collaboratively across teams and disciplines, as required.
Production of Investigations and Nominated Officer MI and Reporting: The role will be responsible for the production of quantitative and qualitative reporting, to support external and internal reporting requirements and support effective Investigation and Intelligence sharing and use of internal and external intelligence, emerging typologies and threat insight to inform case prioritisation, control enhancements and the organisation’s response to evolving financial crime risks.
External Agency Reporting and Nominated Officer Support: oversees suspicious activity investigation and escalation processes, including appropriate consideration of POCA, TACT, SARs, DAML and DATF requirements, ensuring matters are reviewed and progressed in line with internal procedures and statutory obligations.
Complex and Sensitive Investigations: oversees the progression of high-risk, sensitive and complex economic crime investigations, ensuring proportionate decision-making, timely escalation, clear rationale and appropriate documentation.
Financial Crime Exits: provides oversight and SME input into financial crime exits and OBE activity, supporting decisions to limit, block or exit customer holdings or relationships through appropriate governance, approvals and risk-based rationale.
Risk Appetite Boundaries: contributes to defining Risk Appetite Boundaries, ensuring that emerging threats, intelligence insights, and investigative outcomes inform the organisation’s tolerance and approach to economic crime risk. The team maintains and reports KRIs to monitor risk position, where appropriate.

Professional Experience
Good understanding of the financial services industry, the political and economic environment and Santander strategy and initiatives with specific knowledge of economic crime intelligence, financial crime typologies, law enforcement engagement and external threat trends. (Required)
Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory framework of UK financial services, industry trends and best practice (Required)
Strong process facilitation, project management and analytical skills (Required)
Ability to interpret and articulate regulation, statute, and guidance in a business context, delivering complex information in a way that is simple and easy to understand. (Required)
Experience of working in AML/TF in Advisory, Intelligence and Operational roles across financial services and/or Law Enforcement, within the MLR, POCA & TACT Compliance and SARs-reporting contexts. (Required)

Salary Range
£54,318.00 - £81,478.00 per annum (depending on experience)
This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
