SENDCo – OUTSTANDING Primary School – Islington
A prestigious primary school in Islington is seeking an experienced SENDCo to lead the provision for students with special educational needs. This large, inclusive primary school in Islington serves children aged 3 to 11 and has been recognized for its nurturing and supportive environment, particularly in its SEN provision. Responsibilities
- Oversee the SEN provision, ensuring tailored support for students with special educational needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop effective SEN strategies and support plans.
- Lead the SEN team, providing guidance and professional development for staff on best practices in SEN.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of SEN students to ensure compliance with national and school standards.
Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified SENDCo with a National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it).
- Experience working with children with a diverse range of special educational needs.
- Strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusion.
- A clear DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
