Summary
This role will be part of the Operations team supporting the maintenance, health & safety and operations of our company's fleet of vehicles and providing a good standard of maintenance and presentation on buildings and facilities across our site, contributing to a safe, functional and efficient work environment.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
This role requires DIY and organisational skills, the ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
Note: The following list includes all the different activities the team supports but how regularly you will do each will depend on the season and the needs of the business.
Maintenance:
- Report maintenance issues and concerns daily to the Fleet & Facilities Coordinator
- Anticipate and report potential maintenance concerns on all buildings and facilities
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility repairs, renovations and upgrades as needed
- Undertake a wide range of maintenance and cleaning tasks across all our premises ensuring a high-quality finish
- Assist in the prioritisation of tasks across the site and make recommendations for practical completion of tasks
Health and Safety/Compliance:
- Support the team in ensuring that all vehicles and facilities comply with safety regulations and company policies
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimise risks and promote a safe working environment
- Contribute to training sessions for drivers and facilities staff on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and proper equipment usage
- Undertake scheduled premises checks, including all fire safety system checks, emergency lighting and water temperatures, and annual building health checks
- To check First Aid boxes and kits across sites and vehicles and replenish as required
- Support staff with, and respond to, security issues during open hours, and to be an occasional key holder for out of hours and weekends
- Contribute to the health and safety management of the yards
- Contribute to risk assessments and COSHH assessments and ensure that working practices and our sites demonstrate high health and safety standards both for staff and all stakeholders
Fleet
- Support the coordination of the maintenance, repair and servicing of company vehicles including scheduling routine inspections and other preventative maintenance tasks
- Support the accurate recording of vehicle maintenance history, repairs and service schedules
- Support the compliance with all regulatory requirements related to vehicle safety, licensing and registration
Facilities/General:
- Contribute to regular inspection of facilities to identify maintenance issues, safety hazards and opportunities for improvement, completing relevant documentation
- To open up and close down facilities and buildings across our sites when needed
- Meet and assist external contractors providing access and information as required
- Support staff by directing and transporting deliveries across the site and providing porterage as required
Visitor Services Support
- Undertake site checks to visitor areas, removal of litter, checking entrances and exit points are clear and free of any hazards
- Contribute to event set-up/take-down and staffing of a wide range of GE events
Undertake any other duties, as requested by your Line Manager, commensurate with the level of responsibility of the job and the aims of The Green Estate CIC.

- Safely isolate and secure electrical or electronic supplies prior to performing property maintenance operations.
- Apply and implement routine emergency system checks, testing and routine maintenance, identifying and reporting faults as required.
- Perform maintenance and repairs to plumbing systems, including fault identification, safe isolation of supply, replacing components and clearing blockages.

Individual discipline training including Joinery, Plastering, Painting/Decoration, Plumbing and Electrical:

One day over multiple weeks for each discipline attending at either:
