The Role: The purpose of this role is to lead a designated player group within the Academy, delivering the holistic development of high-potential players in line with the club’s Academy curriculum. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), the coach will promote the club’s playing philosophy and report directly to the Head of Academy Developement & Football Methodology. Key Responsibilities- Lead a designated player group within the Academy
- Plan and deliver the holistic development of high-potential players in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
- Implement the Manchester United Academy curriculum, promoting the club’s playing philosophy and style
- Work closely with coaches across different age phases and departments to enhance Academy practices and curriculum
- Support the recruitment team in identifying emerging talent and potential signings
- Engage with key stakeholders, including parents, to design, deliver, and continuously review individual development plans
- Foster a positive yet challenging learning environment that promotes player growth and excellence

The Person:
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, on-grass football coaching sessions that stretch and challenge high-potential players
- Highly motivated, forward-thinking coach with experience developing players in elite football environments
- Strong understanding and insight into the development pathways of Premier League and international-level players
- Hold a UEFA A License and the FA Advanced Youth Award (or currently working towards)
- Excellent communicator and effective team player, capable of thriving in an elite development setting
- Competent in IT, with experience using SportsCode and Angles analysis software
- Hold current Enhanced DBS clearance, along with valid FA Safeguarding and Emergency Aid certifications
- Possess a full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Degree in Sports Science or a related discipline
