Are you a passionate and driven pastoral leader ready to make a real difference? The Oldham Academy North is seeking an exceptional non-teaching Head of Year to lead and support a cohort of students, ensuring they thrive both academically and personally.
This is a key role at the heart of our school, where you will drive high standards in behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing while building strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead on pastoral care, behaviour, and attendance for your year group
- Provide targeted support and early intervention for vulnerable students
- Work closely with families, external agencies, and staff to support student success
- Monitor student progress, wellbeing, and engagement
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school culture
Pay range: SCP 22-27 - £31,919.14 - £36,201.36 - FTE: £33,699.00 - £38,220.00 - 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year
Qualifications and Skills:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Safeguarding training (Level 2 or above; Level 3 desirable)
- Strong experience in pastoral care, behaviour, or student support
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies
