The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations on earth should be doing more to address global poverty. The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of foreign policy. Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Look no further! The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty. With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, The Borgen Project has worked to support the passage of numerous bills that have benefited close to 500 million people in developing countries. Political Affairs Programme This is a part-time, 12-hour per week, 12-week unpaid remote programme. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the programme in fewer weeks. Responsibilities Will Include

• Leading public and political outreach in your state and district.
• Meeting with members of Congress/Government in your State/District/Constituency.
• Representing The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events.
• Assisting with fundraising. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
• Mobilizing individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
• Speaking to groups, classes and organizations.
• Writing letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media and other groups.
Experience No prior experience is necessary, we're looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of your GPA/background. Details This is an unpaid programme, although college credit is available. Start Date New programmes begin every month, you can choose the month you wish to start.
