We're looking for Learning Support Assistants to work in specialist SEMH schools and alternative provisions across Bristol, supporting pupils who need a little extra help navigating school life.
No two days are the same. One day you might be helping a student regulate their emotions, the next you're celebrating a breakthrough that's taken weeks to achieve. The wins can be small, but they mean everything.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Providing one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom
- Helping pupils stay engaged with learning and achieve personal goals
- Supporting behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and therapists
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
- Are calm, patient, and resilient
- Understand that behaviour is often a form of communication
- Can build rapport quickly and genuinely care about helping others
- Have experience in education, youth work, care, coaching, mentoring, support work, or similar backgrounds
