The role:

Are you an experienced Physiotherapist with a passion for leadership, service development and delivering exceptional care for older people? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a dynamic Physiotherapy Clinical Lead to join Older People's Services within Clyde Sector. This is an exciting opportunity to combine advanced clinical practice with strategic leadership, shaping and developing physiotherapy services while supporting patients, carers and staff. You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, improving clinical outcomes and developing future talent within the profession. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Royal Alexandra Hospital
  • Five out of seven days a week
  • Permanent, full-time

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the specialist physiotherapy service for Older People's Services across Clyde Sector while ensuring high standards of patient care
  • Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with highly complex clinical needs
  • Deliver clinical and professional leadership to physiotherapy staff, support workers and students within the service
  • Develop, implement and evaluate clinical policies, procedures, quality improvement initiatives and service developments
  • Support workforce planning, staff supervision, recruitment, performance management and professional development activities
  • Lead and contribute to clinical audit, research and service evaluation to promote evidence-based practice
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to deliver coordinated and person-centred care

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist with a Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent professional qualification
  • Significant post-graduate clinical experience with substantial senior-level expertise in rehabilitation, frailty or older people's services
  • Evidence of leadership experience with the ability to motivate, develop and support multidisciplinary teams
  • Post-registration development to Master's level or equivalent experience and knowledge
  • Strong understanding of NHS policies, professional standards, clinical governance and evidence-based practice
  • Experience of clinical audit, service evaluation and implementing quality improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills with a flexible and positive approach to leadership and service delivery
