A friendly and well-regarded primary school in Harlow is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child in a KS1 classroom with additional needs . This is a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible , offering the chance to make a meaningful difference during an important stage of a child's learning and development.

About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a KS1 pupil on a 1:1 basis , helping them engage with classroom activities, follow routines, and build confidence in their learning. You will play an important role in encouraging positive participation and supporting the child both academically and socially. This position would suit someone patient, nurturing, and adaptable who enjoys working with younger children. Key Responsibilities Providing 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with additional learning needs Supporting the child to access classroom learning and activities Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence Assisting with classroom routines, transitions, and structured learning tasks Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child's development Promoting positive behaviour and social interaction The Ideal Candidate Experience supporting children in a primary school or childcare setting A patient, caring, and positive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Why Join This School?
