The Role

We're looking for an experienced Construction Planner to join our growing team and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects across the UK.

This is an opportunity for a planner who enjoys being at the heart of project delivery, influencing decisions from tender stage through to completion. You'll work closely with operational, commercial and pre-construction teams, developing robust programmes, managing change, supporting project teams and helping drive best practice across the business.

No two days are the same. One day you could be developing a complex tender programme for a major infrastructure project, and the next supporting site teams with progress monitoring, delay analysis or NEC compensation events.

Based from our Leeds office , the role offers a blend of office, site and home working, with hybrid working available.

What You'll Be Doing

Pre-Construction

Working closely with Estimators, Bid Managers and Operational Teams, you will:

• Develop compliant and deliverable tender programmes.

• Identify key constraints, risks, interfaces, milestones and contractual requirements.

• Establish construction sequences, methodologies, outputs and resource requirements.

• Assess access requirements, key dates and third-party dependencies.

• Produce planning documentation, programme narratives, reports and client presentations.

• Support the bid process by providing planning expertise that strengthens our submissions.

Project Delivery

Once projects are secured, you'll:

• Develop and maintain contract programmes throughout the project lifecycle.

• Ensure programmes comply with contractual obligations and internal procedures.

• Monitor progress and identify opportunities, risks and potential delays.

• Produce resource-loaded and cost-loaded programmes where required.

• Support commercial teams with programme impacts relating to:

  • NEC3 and NEC4 Compensation Events

  • Early Warning Notices

  • Extensions of Time

  • Variations and delay analysis

• Communicate programme updates clearly to project teams, clients and stakeholders.

• Facilitate programme reviews and workshops to support successful project delivery.

Business Improvement

You'll also have the opportunity to influence how we work by:

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for a highly motivated planner who combines technical expertise with strong operational understanding and excellent communication skills.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner within the construction or civil engineering sector.

• Practical operational experience, such as Site Engineer, Site Agent or similar project delivery background.

• Strong understanding of Critical Path Analysis and programme logic.

• Experience producing and managing construction programmes through all project phases.

• Proficiency in planning software such as:

• Primavera P6

• Microsoft Project

• Other recognised planning platforms

• Working knowledge of NEC and ICC forms of contract.

• Experience demonstrating programme impacts associated with change, delays and compensation events.

• Understanding of tender and contract documentation.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Full UK Driving Licence.

• Membership of a recognised professional body such as: CIOB / ICE / RICS / CIBSE / RIBA
