About the Role
At Riseley Green School, we’re looking for an inspiring Primary SEN Teacher who understands how Primary aged children learn, develop and build the foundations for their future.
Due to continued growth, you’ll join an expanding specialist team where small class sizes and personalised learning give you the opportunity to adapt the Primary curriculum around the children in front of you. You’ll be able to use creativity, individual interests and different approaches to help pupils engage with learning and experience success.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Primary Teacher who wants the freedom to teach differently while still using their strong knowledge and understanding of the Primary curriculum. You’ll work alongside Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons aligned to the Primary curriculum
- Use your knowledge of Primary teaching and child development to create learning appropriate to pupils’ individual starting points
- Adapt the curriculum and your teaching approach to meet a range of Special Educational Needs
- Create a nurturing and structured classroom where pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn
- Make learning accessible, practical and meaningful while maintaining ambitious expectations
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence, communication and emotional wellbeing
- Monitor individual progress and adapt teaching to maximise outcomes
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and other professionals
- Celebrate progress and help every pupil recognise what they are capable of achieving
What we're looking for
For this role, experience teaching Primary aged pupils and a strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum are essential.
You’ll also need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working in Primary education and/or EYFS
- A strong understanding of the Primary curriculum and how to adapt it for different learning needs
- A creative and flexible approach to teaching
- A passion for helping children with Special Educational Needs achieve their potential
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- A nurturing, patient and resilient approach
- Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues, families and other professionals
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and achieving the best possible outcomes for every pupil
