Job Description

Join a multidisciplinary engineering team developing advanced electro-mechanical products from concept through to delivery. You will be responsible for producing high-quality designs, supporting prototype development, and working closely with electrical and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Seniority: 7+ Years Experience
Security Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain BPSS clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using NX.
• Generate manufacturing drawings in accordance with BS8888 and GD&T standards.
• Perform engineering calculations including stress analysis and tolerance assessments.
• Support integration activities with electrical and electronics teams.
• Participate in design reviews and technical documentation activities.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, and development activities.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Proven experience using Siemens NX and Teamcenter to develop and manage mechanical design solutions.
• Strong understanding of 3D CAD modelling, detailed engineering drawings, and GD&T principles.
• Experience producing drawings to recognised standards such as BS8888 or ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations including stress analysis and tolerance stack-up assessments.
• Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support product development and integration activities.

• Excellent technical communication skills with the ability to produce clear engineering reports and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with electrical, manufacturing, and project teams.
• Practical and hands-on approach to engineering problem solving.

Required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills

• Experience supporting electric motor or power conversion product development.
• Understanding of ECAD and MCAD integration activities.
• Practical machining experience using conventional workshop equipment.
• Experience assembling and testing engineering prototypes.
