We have a unique opportunity for a Clinical Academic AHP Lead/Consultant AHP within the Solid Organ Transplantation programme at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. QEHB is one of Europe's leading transplant centres, recognised nationally and internationally for the management of advanced organ disease and transplantation. This is initially a 6 month fixed term post. This role requires credible national and international research delivery with advanced clinical expertise in delivering prehabilitation/rehabilitation before and after organ transplantation. Applicants should have a strong track record in patient care/engagement, multiprofessional education and research. The successful candidate will work alongside physiotherapists, hepatologists, surgeons, nurses and AHPs within a highly specialist multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide clinical and research leadership within Organ Transplantation, working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care across the transplant pathway. They will undertake advanced assessment, treatment and management of patients undergoing transplant assessment, and patients receiving prehabilitation, rehabilitation and post-transplant follow-up. The post holder will lead the development and delivery of evidence-based AHP services, driving innovation and service improvement. They will contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of clinical pathways that optimise patient outcomes, reduce frailty and support recovery. The role includes leading audit, quality improvement and research activity, embedding evidence into clinical practice and supporting the Trust's academic ambitions. The successful candidate will provide expert advice to AHP colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team, promoting excellence in specialist solid organ transplantation. They will play a key role in education, supporting the development of AHPs, and the wider workforce through teaching, mentorship and clinical supervision. Applicants should demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, excellent leadership and communication skills, and experience of managing and developing both registered and non-registered staff within an acute NHS setting. - BSc in physiotherapy or other AHP profession and MSc relevant to the clinical field.
- Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) registration as a physiotherapist.
- CSP or equivalent professional registration.
- PhD in relevant clinical field.
- Evidence of commitment to advanced clinical and non-clinical continued professional development within own speciality, e.g. post registration training and evidence of a detailed personal development portfolio.
- Relevant, accredited, postgraduate education/courses within the clinical field.
- Teaching/training experience at post graduate level.
- Experience of supervising PhD students
