Protocol Education is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEND schools across Bristol. This is a full-time role starting in September, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates who have a genuine passion for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and are committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD, SLD, and complex learning needs.
- Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
- Encouraging pupils' independence, confidence, and social development.
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support each pupil's learning journey.
Essential requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year's experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential.
- Experience working in a specialist SEND school, mainstream school, or similar educational setting.
- A good understanding of Autism, SEMH, ADHD, PMLD, MLD, SLD, or other additional needs.
- Excellent communication, patience, and behaviour management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
