Care Worker - Afternoons, Evenings and Weekends.

About Choices Homecare

Choices Homecare are proudly part of the Optimo Care Group that supports service users across the UK with over 1,500 dedicated employees and a strong presence across multiple regions. We collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals to deliver outcome-focused care.

Working hours

Our service provides care seven days a week between 7:00am and 10:00pm. We welcome applications from candidates seeking both full-time and part-time hours. Our Oldham service is predominantly looking for individuals available between 3:00pm and 10:00pm , Monday to Friday, and for full-day shifts at weekends. Please indicate your preferred working days and hours on the pre-screen application form.We're particularly looking to cover regular Sundays (Mornings/ Full Days).

We’re proud to offer flexible zero-hour contracts where you can choose to work as many hours as you’d like.

Please note: this role is paid for care delivery time only, with mileage between calls reimbursed at 30p per mile. This is not a block pay position

Key Responsibilities of a Care Worker

• Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
• Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
• Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
• Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
• Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
• Supporting emotional well-being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
• Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries.

What You’ll Need

• A caring, compassionate approach.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience preferred but not essential – full training provided.
• UK Driving licence and own vehicle is essential within all routes/locations (We pay 30p per mile fuel allowance)
• Alternative weekend availability
