As a Senior Staff Nurse within the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Day Care Unit at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, holistic care to children and young people with complex haematology and oncology conditions. Working as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you will lead and coordinate patient care, support colleagues and contribute to service development. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Full-time, fixed-term for 12 months
• You will be based at The Royal Hospital for Children
• Working Pattern: Between Monday and Friday 08:30 - 19:30

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate high-quality, evidence-based care for children and young people with haematology and oncology conditions
• Undertake assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care programmes for patients and their families
• Support the daily management of patient activity within the Day Care Unit, ensuring safe and effective service delivery
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to nursing colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Participate in specialised nursing interventions including chemotherapy administration and advanced clinical procedures following competency achievement
• Deliver education, support and advice to patients, families and carers to promote confidence in managing care at home
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement, research and service development activities to enhance patient outcomes

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
• Significant post-registration experience within paediatric nursing and the delivery of complex patient care
• Experience of caring for children and young people with acute, chronic or complex healthcare needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support children, families and colleagues in sensitive situations
• Demonstrable leadership skills with experience coordinating workload, delegating tasks and supporting junior staff
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice, clinical governance, audit and quality improvement principles
• Commitment to continuous professional development with the ability to develop specialist knowledge and skills within paediatric haematology and oncology services
