More InformationPurpose and Scope:OC&C launched the Visualisation & Tools Team four years ago to strengthen our ability to support both client and internal projects. The team is steadily expanding to ensure that OC&C remains well positioned to meet client needs in a world of increasing data size, maturing data stacks and emerging AI-enabled technologies. The Visualisation & Tools Team has 4 pillars of work:Internal: Reporting and tools explicitly made for internal use with no commercial purpose. This section is dominated by business intelligence reporting but also includes other elements, such as internal surveys. External: This work is on-project client work that involves building end-to-end tools (that may source or transform data) and ready-to-use reporting. Tools: These are larger projects that have a long-term commercial purpose that will eventually feed into multiple client projects. The output may take the form of tools that do repeatable tasks or even as proprietary data set intended for client work long-term. An example of such includes building a user-friendly tool that queries a third-party API to understand client competitor market share.Training: All members of our team are expected to teach and learn from those around them. This includes both formal training of consulting and business services staff but also in the day-to-day role as a current or aspiring subject matter expert.All four of these pillars are growing and so a larger team is crucial to meeting the needs of the business and our clients. You will be in a position of being able to work with almost everyone in the entire business and will be seen as a driver of critical work and positive change.About The CandidateThe visualisation and tools team is one of the growth areas for the firm and we are looking to recruit individuals to an entry level position as an analyst. We are looking for candidates able to demonstrate excellence in the following areas: Requirements: Degree in a quantitative subjectExceptional quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills Proficiency and working experience in Python and Excel1+ years’ experience in a technical role, such as analyst, developer, engineer etc Familiarity with writing readable, maintainable code. Strong data quality habits including: validation checks; deduping; handling imperfect data.Preferred (not prerequisite): Proficiency and working experience in any other computing language such as SQL, or JavaScriptExperience working with large datasetsA portfolio of work showing (GitHub, notebooks, small projects), particularly featuring data collection (especially through parsing html) and analysisExperience working with a visualisation software, such as Tableau – especially an existing portfolio of work, such as a Tableau Public profileCompetencies: Curiosity-driven with a willingness to learn Self-starter mindset and can-do attitude Comfortable communicating and engaging internal and external stakeholders Collegial and collaborative working styleAbout The CompanyOC&C is a global strategy consulting firm, working with senior executives across the world on some of the most exciting strategic problems and questions.
