About the Role

As ECT Science Teacher (Biology) , you will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 , with a strong focus on Biology. You will be supported to teach a well-sequenced curriculum that develops:

• Secure understanding of key Biology concepts and scientific thinking

• Confidence with practical work and safe laboratory routines

• Data handling, application of knowledge and evaluation skills

• Exam confidence through modelling, purposeful practice and precise feedback

Students study topics including cells, genetics, ecology, evolution and homeostasis, building strong foundations for GCSE Science. Lessons are structured to be challenging and accessible, supporting learners with different starting points through effective scaffolding and stretch and challenge.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

• Be an ECT (or soon-to-qualify) and hold, or be working towards, QTS

• Have strong subject knowledge in Biology (and confidence teaching general Science)

• Deliver well-structured lessons with clear routines and high expectations

• Be committed to developing through mentoring, coaching and training

• Build positive relationships and maintain a calm, purposeful classroom culture

• Work collaboratively within a supportive Science team
