We are looking for a Year 6 teacher in Dunstable, Bedfordshire! The school is looking to appoint a class teacher who will enjoy teaching an academic yet creative, topic-based curriculum in a school with exceptional pastoral care.

The School
This is a spectacular and welcoming two-form entry school in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. It is easily accessible by public transport and seeking to appoint a qualified Primary teacher from September 2024. The school has a Good Ofsted rating. The school is happy to consider applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs. The school has a supportive culture and is an excellent place for both students and staff members.
Responsibilities of a Year 6 teacher:
· As a Year 6 teacher you will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their first steps in Key Stage 2, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment.
· Teaching the Key Stage 2 curriculum to groups of children while also focusing on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses
· Further developing maths ability and introducing fractions, statistics, and geometry
· Help children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories.
· Keeping track of children's progress and occasionally reporting back to parents
Year 6 Teacher requirements:
· QTS, PGCE and strong academic record
· Creative, imaginative, determined, resourceful and adaptable practitioner
· Passionate about learning
· Able to demonstrate a track record of success within a Year 6 environment
· Able to communicate your passion to children and parents
· Ability to demonstrate outstanding practice in the classroom
