About the role

As Knowledge Mobilisation & Impact Specialist within the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration East Midlands (ARC EM), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that research evidence leads to meaningful improvements in health and care. Working closely with the Head of Knowledge Mobilisation, you will bridge the gap between academia, policy and practice by translating complex research findings into accessible, actionable outputs that support decision-making across health and care systems. You will help align research innovations with national and regional priorities, facilitating the adoption, scaling and impact of evidence-based solutions across the NHS, local government and wider partner organisations.

This is a highly collaborative and strategic role that sits at the intersection of research, implementation and system improvement. You will work with researchers, clinicians, policymakers, community organisations and public contributors to identify knowledge needs, co-design knowledge mobilisation activities, synthesise evidence, develop impactful resources and evaluate how research is being used in practice.

About you

You will hold a PhD or possess equivalent experience in applied research, knowledge mobilisation and impact, with a strong track record of working within applied health research, implementation science, quality improvement or related areas of the health and care sector. You will bring an in-depth understanding of knowledge mobilisation theory and practice, alongside experience of developing impact-focused approaches that respond to changing health, care and policy priorities. You will be confident synthesising complex evidence, translating research into practical products for non-academic audiences and supporting the adoption of evidence-informed innovation across organisations and systems.

We are seeking an excellent communicator and relationship builder with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, influence decision-making and work effectively in complex environments. You will be a strategic thinker who can connect people, ideas and programmes to deliver impact, while remaining adaptable, resilient and solutions-focused.
