You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working pro-actively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. Within the Data Office, the Data and Analytics team builds value-focussed data products strategically on the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform (EDAP), internally for the firm. The Data Analyst sits within this growing team to build , develop, and support the growing catalogue of data products offer ed by the Data Office and will play a vital part in the execution of the data strategy.

Reporting to the Data Analytics Lead , the Data Analy st will be a key role in the translation of data into meaningful and actionable insights. It is also their responsibility to provide value from the wealth of data available by understanding , not only the business , but also the technical aspects of the data . They will be curious and grow their knowledge of the business and systems to get to the bottom of what stakeholders are really asking for , provid ing the best product to suit their needs.

The Data Analy st will support continuous improvement with developing value-adding products as well as by h ighlighting any data risks found through thorough testing an d analysis. The Data Analyst will analy s e and interpret data from multiple sources, creating models, reports, dashboards, and recommendations that hel p BDO to make decisions on its growth analytics strategy and beyond .

In this role, you will design and deliver high-quality data analytics solutions that provide valuable business insights and support decision-making. You will work closely with Data Engineering and key stakeholders to develop scalable analytics products, contribute to data pipelines and curated datasets, and identify trends through data analysis. You will provide expert guidance on analytics and performance measurement, maximise the value of internal and external data sources, and deliver projects autonomously while maintaining clear communication with the Data Analytics Lead.

You’ll be someone with:

• Proven experience of working in the fields of data analysis , data science, or business intelligence .
• Proficiency in SQL and preferably Python.
• Extensive experience in data analytics and data visualisation , preferably beyond descriptive and diagnostic analytics.
• An understanding of statistical concepts and analytical techniques.
• Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
• A track record in making data solutions accessible for end-users.
• Experience of working with stakeholders to deliver a data-driven approach to decision making .
• Experience in building data products which transition away from manual and heavily Excel based analysis towards automated or semi-automated solutions.
• K nowledge of star schema modelling including dimensional data modelling, the identification of dimensions, facts, measures and hierarchies.
• E xperience developing analytics using Microsoft Power BI and/or other data visualisation tools .
