The successful candidate will be expected to support the Waste, Environment & Fleet Manager in leading the planning and delivery of the Councils waste strategy and other related strategic plans, policies and workstreams linked to this and to emerging legislative, regulatory and market condition changes.

You will also have responsibility for the implementation of Council’s Waste Strategy and with future updates in line with Council requirements, and legislation i.e. Waste (Scotland) Regs 2012 plus other Scottish Government/Zero Waste Scotland guidance and initiatives. Leadership of the Councils waste disposal functions including in-house and contracted services for waste transport, processing and disposal. Management of the Councils landfill sites (both closed historic sites and those being managed to closure).
