Associate Practitioner - Point of Care Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Practitioner to join our friendly, multi-disciplinary, multi-site Point of Care Testing Team, supporting the Biomedical Scientists in the team. If you want to expand your knowledge and understand how the Point of Care Team work outside the laboratory environment, helping the staff working closer to patients- this could be the job for you. We are looking for a keen, dynamic, forward thinking individual prepared to work shifts to help us deliver the services we undertake.
Please note - this role does not require professional registration and is not a Biomedical Scientist position.
Main duties of the job
To support the Point of Care Team in maintaining and quality assuring medical devices used to test patient samples at the point of care, according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). To maintain POCT data bases of staff training, test and quality data to enable production of reports for distribution.

Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have:
- applied for a Graduate visa
- or you will have successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment
All roles in the Trust include a mandatory 12-week training period. Therefore successful candidates are expected to have the Right to Work for a period of at least 6 months from the proposed start date. Immigration and Right to Work status will be discussed with successful candidates at conditional offer. CUH will not offer sponsorship to candidates that have applied for a fee waiver.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
Education to Foundation Degree or equivalent preferably in a science subject(s)
Desirable criteria
Knowledge of physiology, human biology or Biomedical Sciences to Foundation Degree level or equivalent.
Experience

Experience within the NHS or within a laboratory environment

Experience of using data bases
Experience of using Medical devices or laboratory equipment.
