Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join our Walsall NHS Talking Therapies service. This is an exciting opportunity to support people experiencing common mental health difficulties, including anxiety disorders, depression, stress, and low mood, through the delivery of evidence-based low-intensity interventions. Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide high-quality assessments and evidence-based low-intensity interventions for adults experiencing common mental health difficulties within NHS Talking Therapies services. They will assess suitability for treatment, determine appropriate care pathways, and signpost or refer individuals to alternative services where required. Working within a stepped-care model and in line with NICE guidance, the post holder will deliver a range of low-intensity interventions, including guided self-help, psychoeducation, digital therapies and low-intensity CBT approaches, supporting individuals to effectively self-manage anxiety, depression and related conditions. The role involves undertaking risk assessments, ensuring appropriate safety planning, and working closely with clinical supervisors to facilitate timely stepping up, stepping down or transfer of care. The successful candidate will manage a clinical caseload, maintain agreed activity levels, and contribute to service performance targets, including access and waiting time standards. The post holder will maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records in accordance with Trust policies, professional standards and information governance requirements. They will participate in regular clinical supervision, team meetings, appraisals and continuing professional development activities to maintain and enhance their clinical knowledge and skills. - Hold the appropriate qualification
- BABCP registered
- Experience of working in primary care mental health services delivering low-intensity CBT
- LTC Trained
- Supervisor trained
- Knowledge of stepped care model and evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of and/or experiences of PCMIS, RIO, Ulysess
- Knowledge of KPI targets
- Utilisation of supervision and MDS
- Ability to form and maintain therapeutic relationships
