We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable University of Nottingham students to support the smooth running of the Nottingham Graduation ceremonies in July 2026. As a Gowning Assistant, you will play an important in helping graduates prepare for their ceremony and ensuring they have a positive experience.

21st – 10:30-17:00
22nd – 09:30 – 16:30
23rd, 24th, 25th, 27th, 28th, 29th – 08:00-17:00
30th – 08:00-18:00
Pay Rate : £12.75 an hour
Location : David Ross Sports Village
Dress Code : Smart Casual

Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Assist graduates with fitting and correctly wearing academic gowns, hoods, and hats.
- Monitor, tidy, and restock the dressing area to ensure an efficient flow of students.
- Provide general support to the wider graduation operations team as required.
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service to students, staff, and guests.
- Maintain high standards of organisation and presentation in busy periods.
Full training will be provided during set up of the event.

- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Strong teamwork abilities, collaborating effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure, particularly during peak periods of the event.
- Confident interacting with large numbers of graduands and guests.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions carefully.
- Comfortable carrying out tasks that involve heavy lifting, such as moving boxes and gowns.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support a variety of operational tasks.
