The Role

• Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to contribute to A-Level Music or Level 3 vocational qualifications as your experience develops.

• Delivering high-quality, practical-led lessons that incorporate performance, composition, and appraising across a wide range of musical genres.

• Participating in a structured ECT induction program, including regular sessions with a dedicated mentor and a reduced teaching timetable for professional study.

• Leading and supporting a variety of co-curricular ensembles, choirs, and contemporary bands to enhance the school’s musical life.

• Assisting with the organization and execution of school concerts, theatrical productions, and community events.

• Utilizing music technology (such as Sibelius, MuseScore, or Logic Pro) to enhance curriculum delivery and student composition.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by September 2026.

• A strong degree in Music (BMus or BA) or a related field.

• Proficiency in at least one instrument or voice, with the ability to lead rehearsals and inspire young musicians.

• A professional, tenacious, and highly methodical approach to classroom instruction and professional development.

• Demonstrated success during teaching placements in delivering impactful Music lessons to diverse groups of learners.

• A proactive attitude and a desire to immerse yourself in the wider cultural life of the school.
