Behaviour Mentor – SEMH Specialist – Lewisham

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and review effective behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students to manage behaviours that impact their learning, improve social skills, and build self-confidence.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to design and adjust personalized interventions, creating a stable, inclusive environment for student growth.
- Observe and assess students’ progress, contributing to reports and feedback that inform future support and behavioural strategies.
- Encourage positive behaviour through mentorship and goal setting, acting as a role model to support students’ emotional and social development.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience supporting students with SEMH needs in an educational or related setting.
- A positive, patient attitude with excellent communication and empathy skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt behaviour plans as students’ needs evolve.
