Job summary
Epsom PCN has 5 recently qualified GPs and we are looking for an extra GP to join the team. The contract will be for up to 4 sessions a week (but could be fewer). Epsom is a largely urban area with some semi-rural populations and is served by the London facing Epsom St Helier NHS Trust. Famous for its racecourse and the annual Epsom Derby, Epsom PCN is within the Surrey Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Epsom PCN is a forward thinking network and has recently been awarded two bids to embed and test progressive IT from the ICB. It is an exciting prospect for all our practices and GP Federation with the capability of transforming the way primary care is delivered. The PCN is served by St Stephens House Surgery, Shadbolt Park House Surgery, Ashley Centre Surgery, Fountain Practice, The Derby Medical Centre and Spring Street Surgery. For recently qualified GPs there is a protected clinic template to help your transition into full practice. We are open to more experienced GPs applying who are willing to take on additional activities such as duty doctor and clinical triage and salary is commensurate accordingly. Main duties of the job
The post holder is a GP who acts within their professional boundaries, working within a general practice setting. A GP is required to work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract. Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team. About us
Epsom PCN is a dynamic and forward thinking network with strong relations between practices and with its Federation. We have an expansive MDT within the network (over 30 staff) and we work closely with our colleagues in the Community Team. Our ethos and a flavour of the network can be seen by reading the Network Development Plan for 2024-25. Epsom PCN is a friendly and supportive place to work. We have achieved training status as an organisation and take on nursing and paramedic students. Whilst mainly a relatively affluent part of the country, Epsom has pockets of deprivation and we work closely with our colleagues in the VCSE sector and within local and county councils to reduce the disparity in outcomes for our residents. Epsom PCN was awarded a test bed pilot scheme to trial a new electronic health record which can operate at scale to reflect the new Neighbourhood model. It is an exciting time to join this progressive network. Job responsibilities
