About the Job
Fixed term until 31 July 2028
Interview Date - Week commencing 10th August
As the successful candidate, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate law courses in the School of Law, Criminology and Criminal Justice.
You will contribute to a broad range of modules within the Law curriculum, with particular emphasis on:
- The Law of Equity and Trusts
- Land Law
- The Law of Contract
In addition to teaching responsibilities, as a Lecturer you will be expected to:
- Lead modules and provide student support, ensuring that that the faculty delivers high-quality courses and an excellent experience for its students.
- Engage in research, knowledge exchange activities and scholarly activity aligned with the School’s strategic priorities
Skills Knowledge & Experience
The ideal candidate will need to have an academic background in law with module leadership experience. Expertise in one or more of the priority subject areas outlined above will be crucial to the success of this position. Alongside your teaching expertise, a commitment to research, publication and interdisciplinary collaboration will be necessary
Qualifications
The following qualifications will be required:
Essential
- Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject.
- Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain this within an agreed timescale.
Desirable
- Relevant professional qualification and experience.
- Master’s degree in relevant subject.
- Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of submission.
Faculty / Department
You’ll be joining the School of Law, Criminology and Criminal Justice at an exciting time. With a newly launched LLM in Social Justice and plans to diversify the portfolio of law courses offered, there is huge opportunity to develop your teaching portfolio with the School.
The School of Law, Criminology and Criminal Justice is part of the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL). FBL is a multi-disciplinary Faculty which not only offers the full breadth of business expertise, ranging from Business Systems to HR to Strategy and International Business to Marketing, but also encompasses Law, Events, Tourism and Hospitality, Accounting and Finance, Criminology and Criminal Justice. This proffers opportunities for colleagues and teams to engage in activities which deliver social impact not only in relation to business and industry, but also with regards to the public sector, third sector and our local and wider communities.
