A high-achieving 11–18 secondary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science ECT to join its thriving Science Department from January 2026 .

About the Role
This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to teach Science across KS3–KS5 , specialising in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. You will join a collaborative faculty that values curiosity, experimentation, and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver dynamic and interactive Science lessons that promote inquiry and discovery
• Support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations
• Participate in enrichment activities such as STEM clubs, science fairs, and school trips
• Work closely with an experienced mentor throughout your ECT induction programme
ECT Support and Development:
• Comprehensive two-year ECT induction with structured mentoring
• Weekly CPD and subject-specific development sessions
• Reduced timetable to allow reflection and professional growth
• Access to a network of supportive colleagues and leadership pathways
Facilities and Resources:
• Modern science laboratories and digital learning tools
• Dedicated technician support
• Access to national STEM projects and competitions
Experience and Qualifications:
• PGCE with QTS (or pending) in a Science discipline
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for hands-on learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
