Shift is 1pm to 9pm-Every fortnight-Complex care- Join carer doing the morning shift at 1pm to help in getting me up. Washing, putting body brace on, dressing and hoisting into chair. Take to bathroom for urinal bottle.
Tidy bedroom, make bed, feed fish, make my breakfast, sit me up in my chair, feed me, put tv on if not already on. All parts of my care are shared between the two carers doing the 1 to 2 routine.
From 2pm onwards continue to give me my breakfast, medication, drinks and snacks. I will need adjusting in my chair throughout the shift. At around 4pm return to my bedroom to watch tv. At around five go to bathroom then into conservatory for tea and watch tv.
At around 7-30pm go into my bedroom to have teeth brushed. A second carer will arrive to help get me into bed. Hoist me onto commode, then onto bed, will need turning when on bed, remove body brace, put on pyjamas, wash hands and face, once everything cleared away it’s home time.
