Every pump house, fire pump, valve set arrangement and zone assembly we deliver starts right here at our 50,000 sq ft Dudley Port Fabrication Facility, the newest and most advanced site in our business. We design and build our own pump systems entirely off-site, to the highest standard, before they ever reach a customer’s building. That’s not something every fire-protection business can say, it’s what makes Compco different. Every item you pick, pack and load out is part of a system someone’s safety will one day depend on.

You will be joining Compco at an exciting time as the business grows, including moving from supplying our own internal projects to supplying an external customer base too. Yes, it’s a hands-on stores role. You will join a genuine team that is a community-minded group where people pitch in, support each other and develop together rather than working in silos. There is lots to do and time goes fast; you will receive training and development to help you continue to progress. There are lots of people who have been with the business for 10 and even 20 years, having worked their way through the business.

Duties

• Loading and unloading vehicles and deliveries via FLT

• Loading 2-tonne pump houses onto lorries ready for site

• Picking and packing orders accurately, ready for dispatch or modular builds

• Supporting the assembly team with picking lists and parts

• Contacting Project Managers to confirm and check deliveries are on track and on time

• Contacting couriers/delivery drivers directly to ensure deliveries arrive

• Supporting painting of parts when needed

• Compiling daily manifests via the courier portal

• Managing goods in/out - checking deliveries, flagging shortages or damage

• Monitoring stock levels and supporting stock counts/replenishment

• Unpacking and storing deliveries in the correct locations

• Keeping the warehouse to a strong 5S housekeeping standard

• Delivering or collecting goods using the company vehicle

Essential

• Full UK Driving License - required for deliveries to Project Managers on customer sites

• Full FLT License - essential
