Are you confident leading a classroom and looking for an opportunity to support pupils across a secondary school setting? A welcoming school in Sheffield is looking for a reliable Cover Supervisor to join its team from September.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will take responsibility for supervising classes when their usual teacher is unavailable. You will deliver pre-prepared work, maintain a positive learning environment and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged throughout lessons. This role offers a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in education while making a real contribution to pupils' day-to-day learning.

Responsibilities:

* Supervise classes and ensure pupils complete the work provided by their teachers.

* Maintain a calm, orderly and positive classroom environment.

* Follow lesson plans and provide clear instructions to pupils.

* Support pupils with their learning and encourage good engagement.

* Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's expectations.

* Report any concerns or relevant feedback to teaching and pastoral staff.

* Ensure pupils remain safe and focused throughout lessons.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.

* Strong communication and classroom management skills.

* Confidence in leading a class independently.

* A calm, organised and reliable approach.

* Ability to follow lesson plans and provide clear instructions.

* A genuine interest in supporting pupils and their education.

* Experience within a school or education setting is advantageous.

To work with GSL Education as a Cover Supervisor, you should:

* Have the right to work in the UK.

* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.

* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
