Stock Condition Surveyors

OVERVIEW & ROLE DESCRIPTION

Overview

We are currently recruiting for Stock Condition Surveyors on behalf of a construction and infrastructure consultancy providing consultancy, project management, commercial/cost management and surveying services.

Operating over 15 years, they have significant experience across many industry sectors, including civil, residential, aviation, commercial, rail, education, leisure, defence, retail, utilities and infrastructure.

You will be supporting the delivery of stock condition surveys and asset data programmes for local authorities, universities, housing associations, and public sector clients.

The role will involve undertaking property inspections, condition assessments, and data collection using digital survey technology across a range of residential and public sector assets. Experience in stock condition surveys, asset management, HHSRS, or social housing would be beneficial, although candidates with transferable surveying experience are also encouraged to apply.

These are contract roles covering the Birmingham area. Work is expected to go on until March. Typically we look for a minimum of 30 surveys a week. Some surveyors are doing 50 – 60 surveys every week. Below are the rates per survey:

• House/Bungalow £26
• Flat/Maisonette £21
• Block £32 (on this project there are very few blocks and most are 4-6 dwellings, not huge tower blocks)

DBS clearance is essential due to the nature of projects within occupied residential, education, and public sector environments

Responsibilities

• Undertaking condition surveys and inspections
• Preparing technical reports and recommendations
• Supporting life cycle planning and asset management activities
• Identifying defects, compliance issues, and maintenance requirements
• Supporting project delivery, contract administration, and tenant liaison activities to help maximise property access and survey completion rates.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards such as the decent homes act & Awaab’s Law

Skills & Attributes

• Experience within building surveying or property inspection roles
• Knowledge of construction methods, defects, and compliance requirements
• Strong communication skills
• Experience within residential, commercial, or public sector environments welcomed
• Experience with stock condition surveys, HHSRS, or asset management beneficial
• Strong IT skills, including email and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
• Must have DBS clearance or be able to pass a DBS check.
