School Business Manager - Barnet
Are you a strategic School Business Manager ready to take on a leadership role from January 2026? We are seeking an experienced School Business Manager to join a high-performing school in Barnet.
The successful School Business Manager will lead finance, HR, premises and procurement, ensuring the school meets statutory requirements and delivers value for money. As School Business Manager, you will prepare the annual budget, oversee payroll and pensions, produce monthly management accounts and support the Headteacher and governors with accurate, insightful information. This position is ideal for an accomplished School Business Manager who enjoys both operational delivery and strategic planning.
Key details for the School Business Manager:
• Permanent role starting January 2026.
• Lead the school’s business operations in Barnet.
• Provide strategic oversight and operational improvements as the School Business Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Financial leadership — prepare budgets, monitor spend and report to governors as the School Business Manager.
• Operational oversight — manage premises, health & safety and suppliers as the School Business Manager.
• HR and payroll — ensure accurate payroll and pensions administration as the School Business Manager.
• Team leadership — line-manage finance and admin staff as the School Business Manager.
The role is based in Barnet, and the successful School Business Manager will be expected to take up post in January 2026, ready to lead financial planning from January 2026.
