Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to support students in their educational journey?

GSL Education Hampshire & Dorset SEN branch are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Basingstoke .

The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with lesson delivery, and encourage pupils to develop academically, socially, and emotionally while promoting confidence and independence.

Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

* Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance.
* Assist students with classroom activities, learning tasks, and educational resources.
* Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
* Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
* Support students with varying learning needs, including those with SEND where appropriate.
* Prepare classroom materials and assist with lesson organisation.
* Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.

Requirements of a Teaching Assistant:

* Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting is desirable.
* CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* Patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
