Music ECT - Colchester, Essex - Good School
Are you a trainee Music Teacher excited to lead creative, performance-led classroom experiences? This Good Secondary School in Colchester is seeking a passionate Music ECT to join the team from January .
This is a role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, arts-celebrating environment — where choirs, ensembles, concerts, and showcases are central to school identity.

The school has a thriving Performing Arts culture and an excellent reputation for encouraging students to explore their interests in music. The department benefits from a recording studio, rehearsal spaces, music tech software, and strong technician assistance.
ECTs receive structured mentoring, a reduced timetable, and regular access to CPD. Leadership here values confidence, creativity and professional trust, meaning you’ll be encouraged to bring your own musical influences and ideas into your teaching.
We are looking for:
A Music specialist completing their PGCE / QTS route
Strong practical musicianship and confidence teaching performance and composition
A warm, positive presence in the classroom
Salary: Paid on MPS1–MPS2.
