Teaching Assistant required for The Satellite Provision – part of The Bridge Trust

Contract: Permanent, Full time Contract

Salary Grade: Inner London Support Staff Pay Scale 3-4 Point 5-11

You will be required to work until 4:30pm on set days in order to undertake training

The Satellite Provision is a fun and innovative specialist school based in Islington and we are looking for someone who will work alongside teachers, HLTAs and the wider school team, you will help pupils access learning, develop confidence and build the skills they need for adulthood. The role is about enabling pupils to succeed - not doing things for them.

The role:

• Support pupils to engage successfully in lessons and make progress.

• Use agreed strategies within EHCPs, pupil profiles and individual plans.

• Promote communication, emotional regulation and positive relationships.

• Encourage independence and avoid unnecessary reliance on adult support.

• Support functional skills, community learning and Preparation for Adulthood.

• Contribute useful observations to assessment and the recording of progress.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, HLTAs, therapists, families and colleagues.

• Use calm, consistent and agreed Positive Behaviour Support approaches.

• Maintain high expectations for every pupil and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Our story:

The Satellite School opened its Primary school in September 2017, its Secondary school in 2018 for Key Stage 3 and opened its Key Stage 4 provision in 2023. The school consists of two bases, a primary and a secondary, both of which are co-located with mainstream partner schools. The secondary school renovation was completed in 2023, providing a wonderful, calm learning environment.

We are a school for students with autism and follow key areas of the National Curriculum alongside a core Satellite curriculum tailored to the needs of our students. We use a positive behaviour approach which supports our students to develop the skills to become safe, independent and resilient young people.
