Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Glasgow

A client of mine is looking to appoint an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of their transport function and ensure the safe, efficient and compliant operation of a busy vehicle fleet.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established infrastructure business delivering essential services across Scotland. You'll play a key role in leading transport operations, managing compliance and driving improvements across fleet performance and operational efficiency.

The Role
Reporting into the senior operations team, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the transport function, ensuring vehicles, drivers and transport activities operate safely, efficiently and in line with all relevant legislation.
You'll work closely with operational teams to improve fleet performance, manage suppliers and support the ongoing development of transport processes.

Key Responsibilities
·Manage day-to-day transport operations across a busy fleet.
·Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements and transport legislation.
·Lead and support drivers, promoting high standards of safety and performance.
·Monitor vehicle utilisation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
·Oversee vehicle servicing, inspections and maintenance programmes.
·Manage transport-related budgets including fuel, maintenance and fleet costs.
·Analyse operational data and produce KPI reports to support decision making.
·Work with suppliers and external contractors to ensure high service standards.
·Drive continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations.
About You

To be considered you'll ideally have:
·Transport Manager CPC (essential)
·Previous experience managing transport or fleet operations.
·Strong knowledge of Operator Licence compliance and transport legislation.
·Experience managing drivers and transport teams.
·Excellent organisational and communication skills.
·Experience using fleet management or telematics systems.
·A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
