We deliver safety, warmth and comfort to homes and businesses. Every role, whether in the office or on the front line, plays a key part in this mission.
As Director of Change Management, you'll lead the people side of one of SGN's most significant transformation programmes—a major, multi-year investment that will reshape our property estate, workplaces and operational facilities. Working alongside the Programme Director, you'll ensure every office move, workplace redesign and technology deployment is successfully adopted by our people, maintaining business continuity, operational resilience and the protection of critical national infrastructure throughout the transformation.
Here's How You Will Contribute…
- Develop and lead the overall Change Management Strategy, embedding change activities across the Property Transformation Programme from mobilisation through to business-as-usual.
- Lead organisational change, business readiness, employee engagement, communications, learning and adoption activities to ensure successful transitions with minimal operational disruption.
- Build trusted relationships with Executive leaders, operational teams, HR, Property, IT, Cyber Security, regulators and employee representatives to create strong sponsorship across the organisation.
- Establish robust business readiness, change governance and adoption frameworks, ensuring every property move is supported by appropriate readiness assessments and transition planning.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Change Management Office, including communications, stakeholder engagement, business readiness and learning teams, while managing external change partners.
- Measure and drive the successful adoption of new workplaces, technologies and ways of working, ensuring the programme delivers lasting business benefits and a positive employee experience.
What You Will Need
- Extensive experience leading organisational change across large-scale transformation programmes, ideally within regulated infrastructure, utilities or similarly complex environments.
- Proven success delivering change for major property, workplace, infrastructure or business transformation programmes involving large, diverse workforces.
- Strong expertise in change strategy, business readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications and organisational adoption.
- Experience building and leading enterprise-wide change teams while influencing Executive leaders, senior stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Knowledge of programme governance, benefits realisation, risk management and regulatory environments, with experience working in matrix organisations.
- Experience of recognised change methodologies (such as Prosci, ADKAR or APMG Change Management) and an understanding of Critical National Infrastructure or operational workforce change would be advantageous.
Not sure you meet every requirement?
Research shows some people – particularly women and those from underrepresented backgrounds – may hesitate to apply unless they meet every criteria. At SGN, we value diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
If this role interests you but you're not sure you tick every box, we'd still love to hear from you. You might be just who we're looking for – now or in the future.
