Senior Manager, Tax Governance
Newcastle (2 days per week in office)
£70,000 - £90,000 + Benefits
- Lead tax governance, risk management, and control framework projects for a portfolio of clients
- Advise clients on tax risk, governance requirements, and best practice compliance processes
- Review and improve tax control frameworks, identifying and mitigating key tax risks
- Manage governance-related compliance requirements, including SAO, CCO, and tax risk reporting obligations
- Support tax audits, HMRC enquiries, and governance reviews
- Monitor legislative developments and assess the impact on client's governance frameworks
- Prepare and present tax risk assessments and governance reports to senior stakeholders
- Work closely with finance, tax, legal, and compliance teams to strengthen tax governance processes
- Lead and develop junior team members, providing technical and project guidance
- Support business development activities and identify opportunities for additional advisory work
To be successful in this role you'll need:
- Practice, in-house or HMRC background
- Previous experience running teams, leading engagements, developing juniors etc
- Strong tax governance experience
- This could also be a strong Manager who wants to step up or someone who has a part time role in tax governance wanting to make the move at SM grade.
