Contract : Term Time Only and Permanent

Salary : Scale 3, Spine Point 5-6

£23,826 - £24,166 (£28,617 - £29,025 full time equivalent)

Hours : 32.5 per week - this post cannot be done in a WFH capacity

Drivers Licence : You will be required to have a full and clean drivers licence and access to a car.

Successful applicant needs to have right to work in the UK.

What are we looking for?

Waterside and the Imperium Federation have a reputation for excellence. We work with the most interesting of pupils (KS1 to KS4) who have SEMH needs.

All of our staff and pupils are super heroes - they make the impossible, possible and take the time, care and understanding to bring out the very best in each pupil.

We are looking for some new super heroes to join us and help us continue to make huge changes to the lives of the young people in Greenwich.

You need to be dedicated, highly motivated and adaptable - willing to see past the behaviours presented and be curious as to what’s causing it. We need an adult who can hold a pupil in mind, support them, their peers, their teachers and schools in understanding how best to empower them to be the best superhero they can. You will demonstrate an effective and intuitive understanding of behaviour and how consistent strategies can have a monumental impact.

We need a super hero with excellent communication and people skills with a clear professional understanding, as you will be supporting colleagues at all levels as well as someone who isn’t afraid to learn!

We offer comprehensive training, mentoring and support - including areas such as attachment, trauma and unpicking the behaviour from the diagnosis and the opportunity to work within many primary schools across the borough. You will also form an integral part of the Waterside Family - honing your skills within the main building so you can support our colleagues within their mainstream settings.

We have a highly structured CPD programme and are fully committed to both your professional and personal development, ensuring that you are at the forefront of curriculum and practice developments both within the SEN sector and mainstream.

Who are we?

The Imperium Federation is a maintained SEN federation within the Royal Borough of Greenwich (in fact, the only maintained SEN schools within the borough). We have attained Outstanding from OFSTED at both sites and are proud of the results our pupils at the end of KS2 and KS4 achieve.

We support schools across the borough with challenging/interesting behaviour by providing professional advice, professional development and direct hands on support in removing the SEMH barrier to learning.
